This tutorial was created using PSP9, however all versions should work. A working knowledge of PSP is assumed.
Supplies Needed
Tube of choice. I am using the amazing Art of Elias Chatzoudis, which I purchased a licence to use from PTE.
BP_template122, made by me.
Cybia Screenworks (optional)
Animation Shop
Font used is Mr.Dehaviland
My Supplies
(Includes animation glitter, black pearl, net pattern, doodle and word art)
Note: The instructions for this tut are made for the tube and supplies I used. If you are using something different, you may need to make adjustments.
IPL = In Palette Layers
Let's Begin
Open supplies in PSP
( You will need to open the glitter in animation shop. There are three frames. Copy and paste each frame seperately in psp.)
Open template in PSP. Duplicate tempate and delete the original.
IPL delete the info layer. Still in palette layers, right click the top dark rectangle and merge down with the bottom one.
Go to Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with this color babbbc. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 2. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select None. IPL, delete the original rectangle layers. Move the gray layer above the black. Still on the gray layer, go to Effects - Plug Ins - Cybia - Screenworks. Click the top drop down and select a pattern. I chose Dense net. IPL, right click the gray patterned rectangle and merge down with the black. Add a drop shadow. H & V = 2. Opacity = 80. Blur = 6. Color is black.
////
Click the top light rectangle. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with this gradient color. Foreground color 95dbf6, Background color 185482. In foreground color click the gradient tab. Set style to Linear. Angle = 45. Repeat = 3.
After filling the new layer, keep the selection active and add a new raster layer. Go back to the foreground color palette and under the pattern tab, locate the net pattern, from my supplies. Make the angle = 0. Scale = 35. Fill this new layer with the net pattern.
Selections - Modify - Expand - by 2. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select None.
IPL, delete the original top light rectangle. Move the net pattern above the blue and merge down. Move the blue and net above the black layer and merge down. Add a drop shadow, same as last used.
Now, you can either repeat these steps for the bottom light rectangle, or duplicate the one you just made and position it on top of the bottom rectangle, then simply delete the bottom light rectangle. I chose the latter.
///
Make a new gradient color. Foreground color cd1a3f, and background 7d1627. In the foreground palette, click the gradient tab. Set style to Sunburst. Repeat = 2. Under Center Point, make both the Horizontal and Vertical = 4.
Click the standing rectangle. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with the new gradient color. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 2. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select None.
IPL, delete the original standing rectangle. Move the red rectangle above the black. Still on the red, go to Effects - Texture - Blinds. Settings: Width = 5. Opacity = 25. Color is black. No check in horizontal box. IPL, right click the red layer and merge down with the black and add the same drop shadow.
///
Make a new gradient color. Foreground is 000000, and background is babbbc. In the foreground gradient tab, make the style Linear. Angle = 45. Repeats = 3.
Click the top strip. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black gradient. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 2. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Selece None. IPL, delete the original layer. Move the gradient layer above the black and merge down. Add same drop shadow.
Repeat these steps for the bottom strip, except click the invert box on the black gradient.
Copy and paste, the word art. See my tag for placement on the strips. Click the " I am a work of art". Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with this color 95dbf6. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 1. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select None. IPL, move the blue layer above the black. Right click and merge down. Add drop shadow. Repeat for the bottom text.
///
Open tubes in PSP. The tube I'm using comes with two sizes. Click on the larger image and give it the same drop shadow we've been using. Right click and copy.
On your tag, click the circle layer. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 1. Paste your tube, as a new layer. Position it in the center of the circle. Selections - Invert. Delete. Selections - Select None.
///
Time for another gradient color. Actually, it's the same blues used earlier. Foreground is 95dbf6, and background is 185482. In the foreground gradient tab, make the style Sunburst. Repeats = 3. Horizontal and Vertical = 50.
Click the circle again. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with the blue gradient. Selections - Modify - Expand - by 2. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select None. IPL, move the blue layer above the black. Right click and merge down. Add the same drop shadow. IPL, delete the original circle layer.
///
Paste, as a new layer, the smaller tube image. Resize down to 80%. Add this drop shadow. H & V = 1. Opacity = 50. Blur = 8. Color is black. Place the tube at the right side of your tag. See my tag for example.
///
Paste, as a new layer, the black pearl. Resize down to 50%. Add a drop shadow. IPL, right click the pearl and duplicate three times. Place a pearl at each end of the two strips. See my tag.
Paste, as a new layer, the black doodle. See my tag for placement. IPL move it to just above the red layer. Add a drop shadow.
///
Now is a good time to add your copyright info.
///
IPL, move the diamond line to the top layer.
For the moment, move the diamond line to the center of the tag. Erase the bottom 8 diamonds. Increase size to 130%. Move it back to the left where it was originally. ( I did this because when I first resized it, the line jumped so far left that I thought I had lost it. lol So, before resizing, I moved it to the right a bit, just so I could find it again.)
Selections - Select all - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 1. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with black. Selections - Select none. Move the black layer below the original layer.
Still in Palette layers, Hide the diamond layer. Right click any other layer and merge visible. Unhide the diamond layer. Right click and duplicate twice. You want three diamond layers. Now hide the two duplicates.
Click the visible diamond layer. Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat. Layers - New Raster Layer. In foreground color click the pattern tab. Locate the first glitter frame. Fill the new diamond layer. (I know, it's a bit tedious, but I know no other way. Be sure to get each diamond.) Selections - Select None. IPL, delete the original diamond layer. Right click your tag and copy merged. Paste in animation shop as a new animation.
Back in PSP, unhide the first duplicate diamond layer. Repeat all the steps you just did for the first layer, only in your foreground palette in the pattern tab, select the second of the glitter images. After you've deleted the original duplicate layer and then do the copy merged, go to animation shop. Right click the tag already there and paste after current frame.
Back in PSP, unhide the last duplicate diamond layer. Again, repeat all the steps you did for the first two. In the foreground pattern tab, be sure to select the third of the glitter images. After deleting the original duplicate diamond layer, right click and copy merged. In animation shop, right click your tag and paste after current frame. You should now have a tag with three frames. Go to View - Animation. If you are happy with your tag, save as an mng file, for future use.
To add a name, in PSP open your text file. I used the font Mr.Dehaviland size 72. Stroke width = 1. Foreground and Background are black. For the outline go to Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat - Modify - Expand - by 1. Layers - New Raster Layer. Fill with this color 95dbf6. Selections - Select None. IPL, move the blue layer above the black, right click and merge down. Add a drop shadow. H & V = 2. Opacity = 80. Blur = 6. Color is black. Copy your name and paste in animation shop as a new animation.
In animation shop, on the tool bar, locate propagate paste and click. Click on your name and type Ctrl a - Ctrl c. Now click on your tag and type Ctrl a - Ctrl e. Place your name at the bottom center of your tag. See my tag.
Save as a gif file.
